Which is Better for Honeymoon?
For pure romance and scenery, Krabi wins — Railay Beach, limestone cliffs, turquoise lagoons, and a quieter atmosphere create a more intimate setting. But if you want a luxury 5-star beach resort with a private beach and all amenities, Phuket’s resorts are superior. Our recommendation: spend 3 nights in Krabi for the scenery + 3 nights in Phuket for the resort experience.
Which is Better for Families?
Phuket is better for families — better infrastructure, more activities (Splash Jungle water park, Tiger Kingdom, Fantasea show, Elephant Jungle Sanctuary), gentler beaches for children, and more family hotels. Krabi is better for older children who can do hikes and kayaking.
Which is Cheaper?
Krabi is generally 20–30% cheaper than Phuket for accommodation and food. Ao Nang town in Krabi has excellent budget and mid-range options. Phuket’s best beaches (Kata, Karon, Surin) are pricier but offer more luxury choices.
